The forum invited Professor Patrick Schafer from the University of Giessen in Germany, Professor Murray Grant, Associate Professor Emily Breeze from the University of Warwick in the UK, Professor Cao Yangrong from Huazhong Agricultural University, Professor Liu Jun from China Agricultural University, and Professor Zhang Meixiang from Shaanxi Normal University, as well as 15 experts and scholars from our university's College of Agronomy, including Professor Yang Qin, Professor Li Tingdong, postdoctoral fellows Wang Bingxin and Yang Yang, and doctoral candidates He Shuangcheng, Cao Yimeng, Li Yilin, Zhang Ruiyu, and Cheng Xiaofang, who presented academic reports. The experts collectively discussed the current status, cutting-edge technologies, and development trends of crop disease resistance breeding and genetic improvement innovation from the aspects of plant immune mechanisms, plant-microbe interaction mechanisms, new technologies and strategies for crop disease resistance, and innovation and utilization of crop disease-resistant germplasm resources, providing a platform for learning and exchange for teachers and students in related fields.

Plant Disease Resistance Workshop has been held for six sessions since 2017, with over 100 experts and scholars from more than ten countries including the UK, Germany, and the USA sharing cutting-edge research on crop disease resistance through the forum. The forum has promoted academic exchanges and friendships and played an important role in forming an international academic team, promoting substantial cooperative research in the introduction of intelligence base, strengthening the training of high-level talents, and enhancing the research level and international influence of our university's crop science discipline.
